Rare & Antiquarian, First Editions, Out of Print

About the Bookshop

Forgotten Lore is a throwback rare bookshop named in honor of Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Raven.” I have been dealing in hard-to-find books for more than a decade; the physical shop opened in May of 2020. Because Forgotten Lore is a boutique shop with about five thousand volumes, inventory is fluid. The idea here is to offer bibliophiles unique books in several specialty categories: rare and antiquarian, the occult, decorative bindings, literary first editions, Texas and the American West, signed books, and a few more. Too, you’ll find ephemera and tarot cards. We are located in Friendswood, Texas.

Rare & Signed Books

Having built my inventory from the ground up I (generally) know what I have and where it is. I select, inventory, catalogue, price, and shelve everything myself — I didn’t purchase an existing bookstore’s inventory. Forgotten Lore buys books from the public but only very selectively. I particularly want early twentieth century fiction, antiquarian volumes in very good condition, history, and the occult. I am not interested in cookbooks, children’s books, contemporary bestsellers, devotional books, health and wellness, self-help, or large sets.

I offer hundreds of signed books, items signed by Pulitzer winners, Nobel laureates, historians, athletes, musicians, poets, entertainers, comedians, novelists, occultists, and all kinds of other folks. I guarantee the authenticity of all signatures.
